Our history

The history of By Carpel started in 1969 thanks to Vittorio Bonacina, who, in the building in front of his house, began working as an electrical carpenter in the overhead and jib crane sector, along with four workers.

In 1976, the first profiling machine was bought and the design and production of the 2000 type raceway and all its accessories to electrically power overhead cranes, galvanizing plants and mobile systems was started. Four years later, with the expansion of the market both in terms of products and areas covered, the company moved to the current headquarters of Via Como in Brivio and, along with an extension of the warehouse, also the range of products was extended, by introducing also the European Type raceway and the products for IPE & NP beams.

In 1987, the company changed its business name into By Carpel srl, which incorporated also the marketing department in the design and production of all overhead crane accessories that feature in the catalogue. This catalogue was further extended in 1990 with the introduction of the PVC continuous connector line, the Trolley Elite line.

Thanks to constant and continuous investments in quality, R&D, By Carpel released the first CE-marked products in 1995 and obtained the ISO 9001:2000 certification in 2001, as a further proof of the quality achieved.

In 2007, the company extended again its line of overhead crane accessories with the production of buffers, followed, in 2010, by the introduction of the STAINLESS STEEL festoon system and IPE line.

After reaching over 80 countries worldwide but still looking for further improvements, By Carpel will obtain also the ATEX certification in 2015, which will be extended to the festoon system lines and trolleys for beams.
